Biography

Afshin began playing the Guitar on his own hand-made Guitar in Persia in 1996. At this time he was a Setar player in the Shiraz youth orchestra. He studied under K. pourmoghaddam in Tehran initially, after a few years he made his debut in Shiraz and then Tehran. Simultaneously he participated in Lily Afshar’s master classes held in Iran.
He left to Finland to study Guitar performance at the Lahti Polytechnic under Juha Johansson.
He is currently attending postgraduate studies with Hubert Käppel in Koblenz International Guitar Academy, Germany.
Afshin’s performance has a rare approach to classical western music, it is flavoured with hints of his eastern heritage reminding the listener of the origins of Guitar. Afshin is a renowned instrumentalist of his generation in Persia.
Afshin Ardalan on syntynyt vuonna 1976. Kitaransoiton opiskelun hän aloitti vuonna 1996 itse tekemällään soittimella. Hän opiskeli aluksi K. Pourmoghaddamin johdolla Teheranissa, jossa myös debytoi jo muutaman vuoden kuluttua opintojensa aloittamisen jälkeen. Samaan aikaan hän aloitti opiskelun Lily Afsharin mestariluokalla.
Sittemmin Ardalan on opiskellut kitaransoittoa Lahden Ammattikorkeakoulussa
Juha Johanssonin johdolla. Tällä hetkellä hän suorittaa postgraduate-opintojaan
Hubert Käppelin johdolla Koblenzin Kansainvälisessä Kitara-Akatemiassa
Saksassa.
Ardalan on esiintynyt monien orkestereiden ja yhtyeiden solistina, sekä pitänyt useita soolokonsertteja Iranissa ja Suomessa.
